This memorial to Crazyhorse was started in 1848 by the sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski. His family continues to work on the massive project. I don't know how many years it will take to transform an entire mountain into a sculpture, but what has been completed so far is absolutely amazing! It captivates you to the point that you don;t think about anything but the mountain. I stood outside in a thunderstorm to take the picture with the lightening behind it.
